India and Mexico Prepare to Launch Formal Preferential Trade Pact Negotiations in Capital City

The Indian Commerce Secretary has arrived in Mexico City to formally execute the terms of reference establishing the framework for a bilateral preferential trade agreement. This diplomatic visit marks the official commencement of structured trade negotiations aimed at deepening economic ties between the two countries.

The initiation of these talks follows preliminary diplomatic engagements designed to identify mutual commercial interests and market access priorities. Establishing formal terms of reference provides a structured pathway for addressing tariff barriers, regulatory cooperation, and bilateral investment opportunities.

Negotiating teams from both nations will now proceed with scheduled discussions to draft specific trade terms and concessions. Exporters and industry associations should review bilateral trade data and submit representations regarding tariff priorities to government trade bodies.
